Title: Programs Assistant
Hourly Pay: $23.50/hr plus 4% vacation pay ($0.94/hr)
Schedule: 30hrs/week
Duration: 8-9 weeks, expected start Monday, June 1, 2026 (negotiable)
Employer: Cowichan Neighbourhood House, Chemainus, BC
Eligibility: aged 15-30 (preference 18-30), and all conditions of the Canada Summer Job program (see PDF)

This position is ideal for a post-secondary student in Social Services, Community Development, Child & Youth Care, Education, or related fields. The position affords an opportunity to gain experience in the non-profit sector and develop skills related to community development, mentoring youth (9-18 years) and organizational administration (scheduling, promotion, and recruitment).

About Us

Cowichan Neighbourhood House (CNHA) is a volunteer run non-profit organization located in Chemainus, BC. We act as a centre for the community -- providing resources and necessities to those in need, as well as educational and recreational activities for families, seniors, and youth. All activities are free of charge.
