2014 VIU Practicum Student & Capernwray Student volunteers

Every year, the CNHA takes on a Practicum Student from VIU or UVic studying in related fields of study (e.g., Social Work, Child & Youth Care, Education, etc.).  The CNHA would like to introduce and welcome this year’s student — Stephanie Donahue, a Criminology student from VIU.  Stephanie will be with us at the CNHA until the end of April, providing invaluable help with all our activities.

In October, we have senior youth (18-25) from Capernwray Bible School on Thetis Island, who help as part of their outreach program. This gives our youth the opportunity to meet other young people from around the world, learn from their example, and expand friendships.  The students will be here until June.

Finally, we are currently raising funds to hire a Canada Summer Student to work with our youth programs.  If you know of anyone who would be willing to donate, please let us know.  Reaching our goal of $2400 by local donations would allow us to bring in over $6000 in Federal grant money into the community and give a student valuable employment experience.
